DEUTSCHE BANK WOOS IIMBians WITH POUND STERLING 70 K PAY

Article Abstract:

The Deutsche Bank has offered a starting salary of pound sterling 70,000 per annum for a prospective employee from the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIMB). The campus recruitment started on October 12, 1998, and ended in January 1999. About 104 companies were interested in campus recruitment. Only 94 confirmed their participation. Mitchell & Madison has offered $0.10 million -Rs44.57 lakh - and Unisys and Booze-Allen $88,000 per annum. Delloitte and Touche selected 12 graduates for $58,000 per annum plus $5,000 for re-location each. The placements are to be made from February 20-23, 1999. There were 8 private banks, 13 financial services/corporate banking companies, 20 information technology firms, 2 advertising/marketing companies, 12 manufacturing and textile firms and 30 marketing companies. BANK CREDIT GROWTH UNABATED BY SLUMP

Article Abstract:

The bank credit has grown in the last 2 weeks despite the recession in the economy. The bank credit growth rate, on an year-to-year basis, was 17.5 percent as against 19 percent growth predicted by the Reserve Bank of India. The outstanding bank credit, as on November 6, 1998, was Rs337,176 crore. The total resource flow was Rs363,433 crore. The aggregate deposits were Rs674,350 crore. The forex reserves were $26,605 million. (gs)
