TVS STARTS TRIAL PRODUCTION AT SCOOTER PLANT
Article Abstract:
TVS Suzuki Ltd started trial production at its scooter unit at Mysore in Karnataka on July 16, 1998. The plant, with an investment of Rs180 crore, will produce four-stroke 150 cc scooters for the first time in India. The unit is to begin commercial production on September 3, 1998 and the scooter is to be launched in Delhi on October 1, 1998. The unit is expected to manufacture one lakh scooters in 1998 and 1.5 lakh units in 1999. (khr)

BAJAJ, KINETIC CUT PRICES

Bajaj Auto Ltd and Kinetic Honda have brought down prices of their scooter models by an average of Rs200. Bajaj is now offering its Chetak model at Rs32,162; Super at Rs29,000; Legend at Rs37,000 and Bravo at Rs33,937. Kinetic Honda is now selling its Kinetic Honda DX at Rs38,900 and the ZX at 40,300. LML Ltd has not reduced the prices of its scooter models. (khr)
