Detention of Sjamsul Nursalim, Indonesia's foremost debtors, by Indonesian authorities, against the charges of misappropriating the state's 10.9 trillion rupiah ($1.3 billion) emergency funds, is reviewed. The Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency's financial crisis for not recovering its debts from debtors like Nursalim is evaluated.
