Together Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses control 90% of the art auction business; the two giants in their field have conspired to fix prices. The trial will begin that hopes to prove whether or not Sotheby's former chairman A. Alfred Taubman directed Diana D. Brooks, the firm's former chief execitive, to conspire to increase profits even more for the two largest houses.
