Microsoft's profit rose 22% in quarter

Microsoft Corp. posted higher-than-expected earnings for its second-quarter ending in December 1999. The company posted a 22% rise in profits to $2.44 billion (2.41 billion euros) for the period.

Loudcloud's net loss widened in 2nd quarter as costs rose

Loudcloud Inc. posted a higher net loss for the 2001 second-quarter. The company posted a $76 million (83.5 million euros) net loss for the period, compared to a $34.5 million net loss for the same 2000 period.
