Thaksin dismantles Thailand's opposition

Article Abstract:

Thailand's prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's landslide victory in the recent elections is discussed. Shinawatra's Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party won 61% votes making opposition parties too weak to be of any consequence. What is however unnerving is the fact that such majority approval is prone to be misinterpreted and Shinawatra may end up ruling the country as if he was merely managing TRT.
