Bayer and CuraGen will study, develop small-molecule drugs

Bayer AG and CuraGen Corp. have formed a research alliance for the development of small-molecule drugs. The $874 million (927.1 million euros) partnership represents another costly move for Bayer which is attempting to turn its pharmaceutical operations into a genetic research giant.
