Nordsee, a German fast food company, is the leading fast food operator in the others sector of the German fast food market, cornering a market value share of 40.6% in 1997. Nordsee offers fresh fish fast food menu, which has been proven to be very much in demand in the country. Grillmaster, meanwhile, is the second leading fast food company in the others sector, with a 14.4% value share, followed by Kochloffel, at close third, with a market share of 13.5%.

McDonald's, a US-based hamburger chain, dominates the fast food market in Germany, achieving a total value sales of 60.4% in 1997. Since its entry into the local market in the early 1970s, McDonald's has been able to expand its leading position in the German fast food market. Despite the entry and competition posed by other US and German fast food chains, the firm has never really been threatened of its dominance in the local market.

McDonald's, a US-based hamburger fast food chain, dominates the burger sector in German fast food market, cornering a value share of 84.8% in 1997. The company has also achieved the highest growth in the local fast food market in 1997, registering an increase of 0.2 percentage points. McDonald's is followed by Burger King, which entered the German fast food market in 1976, garnering a market share of 8%.
