Bang & Olufsen is a unique company. It manufactures stereo equipment and television sets in an agricultural setting. The company strategy includes avoiding diversification and refining products continuously. This Danish manufacturer is small internationally, thus has less money for research than it would like. It would like to grow at a faster pace. Its new endeavor is microprocessor technology. It is under pressure to adapt products to various markets. It is attempting to cut materials and inventory costs. The firm's atmosphere is one of harmony and creativity.

Small business use of the Internet: findings from Australian case studies

Article Abstract:

The small businesses' innovative management and exploration of the operation and application systems of Internet can give them added benefits such as building an IT process. Small firms should shift their use of Internet as mere informations exchange tool to advertising and marketing means by integrating the organizational Internet processes and internal IS processes. The Internet-based systems with internal application start from the inter-organizational level and finish in a sector-wide transformation.
