The curious history of herbaceous borders

Article Abstract:

Garden history remained an obscure field until the 1960s, when interest was spawned as a part of the movement to conserve historic buildings. A Museum of Garden History was founded in 1977 in a church in London, England. In the past 300 years, garden fashions have shifted between naturalism and architectural formality.

Bad for business?

Article Abstract:

There are concerns about the impact the Socialist Party's victory will have on business in France, though the French stock exchange actually rallied after the election results were in. It is thought that the Party will not pursue reforms deemed too radical.
