FTL Happold is a New York-based engineering, architecture and design company, integrated with Buro Happold, a British engineering practice. It is a specialist in technologies such as steel-cable and glass systems, woven fabric roofs, lightweight metal frames and composite plastics. Much of its work involves tensile structures, such as a travelling fold-up village, a travelling circus, and temporary facilities for the 1996 Olympic Games. The practice is headed by Todd Dalland and Nicholas Goldsmith, who believe that easily transportable structures make a global construction industry viable.
