Trial by fire: economic meltdown puts Thai democracy to the test

Article Abstract:

The vote of confidence in Thailand's prime minister Chavalit Yonchaiyudh is bad news for the economic crisis which the country faces. Popular support for Chavalit has eroded and Thai society is split by divisions that will prevent essential reforms.
