Article Abstract:

The supply-siders ride again: do tax cuts help to promote economic growth?

Article Abstract:

Bob Dole's promise to cut taxes in his political campaign raises questions as to whether tax cuts spur economic growth. The growth in the 1980s was more from business cycle trends and not from Ronald Reagan's tax cuts. Dole's tax cuts could work if he also reduces spending, as he promises.
