Stock splitting is usually greeted very enthusiastically by shareholders, even though it does not give them any more of the firm than they had before. Usually a share split signals that management believes their firm is undervalued, and share prices rise as a result.

Demand for natural fibers such as wool and cotton has rebounded and is now at an all-time high. Huge surpluses of both wool and cotton are keeping prices low, much to the benefit of the clothing industry and the consumer.
