New media adopt old advertising ways

Article Abstract:

Internet start-ups such as OnHealth Network Inc, HotJobs.com and CarsDirect.com, which compose the so-called new media industry, look down on their old-media counterparts in television, radio and print. They believe that traditional advertising will soon become obsolete because of the advent of the Internet and the digital age. However, it is noticeable that these new media firms are relying on old advertising ways to build consumer awareness.

Today's rush to collect private information online is about to create a mega-backlash

Article Abstract:

Users of the Internet are increasingly becoming concerned at companies that collect private information. They also do not trust statements issued by these companies on how they will use such information. However, these companies do not yet realize the consumer backlash that they will face, in the long run. The current craze for collecting information means that people would be asked all kinds of personal information when registering at Web sites. Online information, if matched with other information, will only further compromise personal privacy.
