UK: JUST THREE HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS IMPROVE

Article Abstract:

Bupa, PPP and Western Provident Association were the only medical insurance providers to improve their services to healthcare intermediaries in 2000, according to a survey of members by the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII). The survey found that the service of Universal Provident, Clinicare, Permanent Health, Legal & General, Exeter, BCWA, Norwich Union, Standard Life and Royal & Sun Alliance did not improve, none being rated as very good in ratings ranging from poor to excellent. Factors taken into consideration were liaison with consultants, responses to phone calls, letters, responses and queries of policyholders, and requests to amend policies.

UK: BUPA OFFERS FIXED PREMIUMS ON PMI

Article Abstract:

Bupa is offering fixed premiums on its existing schemes for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to provide greater access to private medical insurance (PMI). Prices will be fixed for individual employees as opposed to the group, to provide more flexibility on the SME schemes, which include Premier Cover and Premier Network. Companies will gain greater control over their future expenditure and budgets, improve cash flow management and ensure subscription rates do not change for two years. Some IFAs claim they will recommend the scheme to their clients.
