UK: NEW FIXED-RATE MORTGAGES FROM ABBEY NATIONAL

Article Abstract:

A new range of fixed-rate mortgages is available from Abbey National. Those who remortgage with Abbey National are offered a free valuation and the services of a solicitor, or GBu 250 cashback. An independent adviser, Ian Muscat, of the Millfield Partnership of Slough, UK, praises the products as being inexpensive compared with those of the Halifax. He would not advise borrowers to take a five year deal at 5.79% for 95% loan-to-value (LTV), but likes the two-year deals, at 5.69% up to 95% LTV and 5.49% up to 75% LTV. There is also a three year deal and a flexible option.
