UK: Newcastle Building Society's Capital Safe Bond

Article Abstract:

The Capital Safe Bond launched by Newcastle Building Society will give investors 85% of the average growth of the EuroSTOXX 50, FTSE 100 and Nikkei 225 indices over the five-year investment period. There is no ceiling on the potential growth of the three indices. The bond can be used to buy Tessa-only and mini cash Isas. Investors are guaranteed all their investment back at the end of the period.

The average savings in the UK total GB[pound] 7030, according to a study by Halifax Share Dealing. Some 81% of respondents claimed to have savings of up to GB[pound] 1000 or GB[pound] 1000-4999, with 10% boasting savings of over GB[pound] 20,000. Some 12% of the under-24 age group had no savings.
