UK tunes in to radio activity

Article Abstract:

A wave of radio broadcasting deals is expected as the U.K. government moves to reform media ownership rules. Radio groups are reorganizing their assets so that they meet the proposed criteria. In the United States, radio deals also accounted for much of the merger and acquisition activity in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector. The media, telecommunications, and high-technology deals announced in November 2001 are listed by group and by European target or acquirer or by non-European target or acquirer.

In November, merger and acquisition activity in Spain's mid-market sector heated up, with the deal offered by ING Real Estate Inversions and Bishop Investments Spain for Filo and Nuon's acquisition of Desarrollos Ecolicos from Abengoa taking a prominent position in the list of top 20 mid-market deals. These two deals and others are discussed.
