UNISYS PLANS TO ENHANCE INDIAN OPERATIONS

Article Abstract:

Unisys Corporation of the US is increasing its presence in India through Unisys India, its Indian subsidiary. Unisys Corporation which will be investing about $2 million in India, plans to offer its solutions and products directly in India. It also proposes to establish centres of excellence and proof-of-concept prototyping centres. Unisys Corporation also plans to increase its business partners in India. It also proposes to take up localisation and customisation of its software solutions in India for its domestic activities. (ag)

COMPAQ INDIA TO LAUNCH DESKPAQ SERVICE

Article Abstract:

Compaq India plans to introduce Deskpaq Service under its FutureSourcing Solutions umbrella. Corporate clients opting for the service will get Compaq desktops of their choice along with any software, support and services needed for a fixed monthly service fee. This service can be availed by companies who own a minimum of 50 computers. Clients will also get hardware maintenance and help desk support, which includes both telephonic and on site support for hardware associated problems. (khr)

Mr Som Mittal, managing director (MD) of Digital Equipment (India) Ltd, has pipped Mr Abhishek Mukherjee, MD, Compaq Computer (India), as the new MD of Compaq. Compaq has taken over Digital worldwide but in India the Compaq India head will be replaced by the MD of Digital. Mr Mittal has now become the MD of Compaq and Digital operations in India.
