UAL says loss will top estimates

UAL Corp. is forecasting a slightly lower-than-expected loss for the first-quarter ending March 31, 2001. The airline will post an estimated $2.93 per share loss, compared to the expected $2.82 per share loss.

US Airways issues a profit warning as business-travel demand weakens

US Airways is forecasting a more than $160 million (179 million euros) net loss for the 2001 third-quarter. The carrier was hurt by a slowdown in the business travel sector.
