All systems go: enhancement package provides for the 21st century M1A2 Abrams

Article Abstract:

The US Army to equip its Abrams main battle tank's M1A2 System Enhancement Package variant into a single brigade of each of its seven divisions. The US Army also plans to equip the M1A1D, a digitized variant of its standard M1A1, into the two other brigades. The move, which results to the creation of a mixed force, was prompted by financial limitations that will enable the service to deploy 1,150 units of M1A2 System Enhancement Packages, which is less than its initial plan of deploying 2,403 units of the M1A2 System Enhancement Package.

Defense deals in the offing between Poland and United Kingdom

Article Abstract:

Polish firm Obrum has received a British Army's feasibility study contract for the Future Engineer Tank (FET) from the UK Ministry of Defense. The agreement could pave the way for the resumption of plans by the Polish Army to acquire new 155mm 52-caliber howitzers that will have a British turret. Two other companies, Alvis and Vickers Defense Systems, were also awarded feasibility study contracts for their alternative designs of FET.
