AARGM makes a successful first flight

Article Abstract:

The first flights of the Advanced Anti-radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) have been completed in late Mar 2000. The AARGM was launched from an F/A- 18 fighter aircraft and successfully met all test objectives. The AARGM is equipped with an inertial navigation/Global Positioning System guidance package and an anti-radiation homing and active millimeter-wave radar terminal guidance to allow it to destroy emitters instead of just disabling them.

US focuses Global Eye on airborne early warning and ground surveillance

Article Abstract:

Technologies that support the Adjunct Airborne Early Warning pprogram, or Global Eye, are being funded by the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The technologies would employ unmanned aerial vehicles or platforms derived from business jets and would carry multi-function radar operating in the air-to-air and air-to-surface roles. One of the key technologies is the use of filters based on microelectromechanical systems.
