Philipp Holzmann, a German construction company, faces financial problems The company overextended itself in eastern Germany, and underwent a restructuring, led by the banks, in 1997, when its problems were thought to have been solved. Further problems were revealed by an audit, and the banks declined to provide further support. The government is helping Holzmann, due to concern about the jobs at risk. The European Commission may wish to examine the agreement, and support for failing companies could become unpopular with German tyaxpayers.

Interior office designers need to work with management to ensure the layout, desk system and group space is adequate for the purpose which it will be used.The effort put in at the beginning of the office design process will pay dividends in the long run.
