Uniform detection field

Article Abstract:

Garrett Metal Detectors manufactures the Magnascanner MT 5500 metal detector which offers multidimensional scanning to raise the rate at which passengers are screened. It offer multiple-coil circuitry with dual alarm lights to update operators on which side the detector targets are found. The design ascertains that with so-called hot spots out of the way, the unit's detection field is uniform across the archway and that false alarms are avoided. Microprocessors are employed in the detection and control circuits to enable sensitivity and flexibility of programming.
