Unilever unveils a margarine that it says lowers cholesterol

Article Abstract:

Unilever Group, an Anglo-Dutch consumer-products firm, unveils Take Control, a cholesterol-lowering margarine, at the annual meeting of the American Dietician Association in Kansas City MO. The firm claims that the margarine, if taken in daily doses of 1 or 2 pats for a period of three-and-a-half weeks, decreases the LDL cholesterol by as much as 10%. It is still unclear how the US Food and Drug Administration will classify this new product but Unilever has announced that it intends to introduce Take Control in the US, as well as Europe markets in early 1999.
