The $495 DataCAD LLC DataCAD 8.0 architectural design package can be run on both DOS and Window-based operating systems which allows it to be used by more users. DataCAD 8.0 is easy to manipulate, being based on Windows for its palettes and icon settings. There are a full range of editing and design tools which can be used by both archiects and construction designers. A separate viewer package can be purchased along with DataCAD 8.0 to allow sharing of information without the need to buy the whole package.

Menzies Engineering Design Ltd.'s data management software Architectural Drafting Pack is designed for use with AutoCAD LT R12 and R13 software. It contains around five mega-bytes of data on a CD-ROM including walls, doors, windows, building, piping, structural and design symbols. Independent libraries can be set up in parallel to system libraries to provide increased flexibility. It costs 145 pounds sterling and is straightforward to install.
