VW awaits ruling in trust-abuse suit

Volkswagen AG and the rest of the European auto industry are awaiting a European court ruling on VW's appeal of the Euro102 million record penalty given to it by antitrust authorities in 1998. VW will probably try to appeal the size of the fine.

U.S. Supreme Court refuses to intervene in Sodexho suit

Sodexho Alliance S.A.'s US food service unit is being accused of discrimination in a class-action lawsuit which could cost the firm $1 billion (853.4 million euros). The U.S. Supreme Court said it would not engage itself in the case.

Ford agrees to pay $3.8 million to settle discrimination suit

Ford Motor Co. will pay a settlement of $3.8 million (3.8 million euros) in a discrimination suit. Ford was charged with preventing women and minorities from attaining entry-level positions at seven manufacturing plants.
