Versatel, Tele2 put merger plans on hold after shareholder protest

Article Abstract:

Versatel Telecom International N.V. of the Netherlands and Tele2 AB of Sweden have discontinued plans for a merger amidst opposition from shareholders. The shareholders of Versatel Telecom International N.V. launched a lawsuit rejecting the 2.20 Euros ($2.78) share price offer saying the offer was too low and undervalued their stock holdings.

KPN makes offer to buy Getronics for $1.04 billion

Dutch telecommunications company KPN N.V. has presented a $1.04 bil management-backed cash offer to purchase information technology services firm Getronics N.V. KPN will also pay amounts for Getronics bonds and debt. The bid represents a 23% premium.
