Vivendi holder may urge unwinding of media titan

Sebastian Holdings Inc. has bought a 2.5 percent or 900 million Euros ($1.1 billion) stake in Vivendi Universal S.A. of France. The company has become the largest shareholder in the mass media giant. Sebastian Holdings Inc. is pushing for changes in strategic planning that would concentrate either on the creation of television shows, media, music or on the distribution of information.

BBC plans iTunes TV deal

Article Abstract:

The British Broadcasting Corp. will sell a selection of television shows in the UK via an agreement with Apple Corp. The shows will be available through Apple's iTunes Internet shop in a pay-per-view arrangement. The BBC currently offers free downloads for shows for one week once they have been broadcasted on television.

Wealthy French businessman Vincent Bollore's current project is the free popular newspaper matinPlus. The hard news paper is published five days per week and targets the elite French market. Mr. Bollore owns a radio station, a television station and has stakes in two large advertising firms.
