Walmark produces in Slovakia

Article Abstract:

Walmark (Trinec, Czech Republic), drink company, wants to take a 10-15% share on the Slovak fruit juice market. Currently, the firm has a leading position on the market in the field. The company wants to take a position after the products of the multinational concerns Coca-Cola and PepsiCo International in the field of saturated soft drinks in Slovakia. Walmark has started drink production on the premises of the former milk-products firm Krtisska mliekaren (Velky Krtis, Slovakia). The firm invested 100 mil Sk in the plant's reconstruction. Walmark has commissioned two lines intended for the packing of fruit juices into TetraPak cartons with a capacity of 6,000 pieces per hour of 1-lt or 0.25 lt cartons and a line for the bottling of saturated soft drinks with a capacity of 2,500 2-lt PET bottles per hour at the plant in Slovakia.

Czech Republic: Mutual trade turnover with Slovakia totalled 163.115 bil Kc in 1997 compared to 157.129 bil Kc in 1996. Czech exports to Slovakia generated 91.635 bil Kc in 1997 compared to 84.948 bil Kc in 1996. Czech imports from Slovakia were worth 71.480 bil Kc in 1998 compared to 72.181 bil Kc in 1996. The Czech Republic saw a credit of 20.155 bil Kc within mutual trade with Slovakia in 1997 compared to 12.767 bil Kc in 1996. Data in source is in table form.
