Article Abstract:

The French government is seeking to tackle the problem of abuse of tobacco, alcohol and psychotropic medicines. The health minister wants drugs to be reclassified, and sees cannabis as in the least dangerous category, with tobacco more dangerous and alcohol in the most dangerous group. The political right and French tobacco and drink lobbies oppose such measures. Treatment centers are to be set up in France, and prisoners are also to be offered treatment for substance abuse.

Hillary Clinton has banned smoking in the White House and Bill Clinton is upholding federal ethics regulations limiting gifts of food and drink to $50 per year from organizations, $20 per year from individuals. The later rule will destroy the traditional power lunch concept.
