Where are the new entrepreneurs?

Article Abstract:

Management buy-ins are less popular in Yorkshire, England, than they once were, according to venture capital investments data. Management buy-in deals from the region dropped by a total of 1.6 billion pounds sterling in value during 1996. Some business executives are reluctant to commit themselves to the management buy-in process because they mistakenly believe they will not have the time or finance necessary to qualify. Suitable candidates need not commit more than 50,000 pounds sterling personal finance but must be ambitious, capable and experienced.

Is it time growth capital was in vogue?

Article Abstract:

Most firms concentrate on funding transactional opportunities through management buyouts and buy-ins, but the market for development capital should expand to include a broader range of investments. The area of development capital has been largely neglected although this type of growth capital investment can be beneficial to UK private companies.
