WiMAX garners U.N. endorsement

The International Telecommunications Union, a United Nations agency, has approved WiMAX wireless technology for use with third-generation technologies. The decision improves chances of broad adoption of the technology. Approval and opposition to WiMAX has been split among the telecommunications industry's top companies.
