The MKE-Quantum manufacturing plant's network infrastructure and structured cabling system has been successfully installed in Batam, Indonesia, by Singapore's ST Computer Systems & Services. MKE-Quantum is one of the biggest manufacturing plants located in Batam's Batamindo Industrial Park and produces read-write head segments for hard disk drives. ST Computer undertook the supply, implementation and commissioning of the entire project. ST used the following network/cable equipment for the project: - Fore PowerHub 6000 and 7000 - BayStack 24-port hubs - Lucent structured cabling systems

Platinum Software Takes Flight

Article Abstract:

A joint deal worth over HK$ 1 mn has been signed between Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) and Asia Tech Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong. Under the agreement, Asia Tech will establish a new Platinum SQL high-performance client/server financial accounting system for HAECO. The new Platinum system will enable HAECO to achieve a 30% cut in month-end processing and support the daily operational demands of its business. The Platinum system will be established at HAECO's joint venture Taikoo Xiamen Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (TAECO) in Xiamen, China.
