Zaha loses cost control over AF

The Architecture Foundation (AF), the developer Land Securities and the contractor Bovis Lend Lease issued a joint statement insisting that Allies and Morrison work with Hadid on the project. The backers of the new Architecture Foundation building in south London defended a sudden and contentious move to bring Allies and Morrison in to oversee the completion of Zaha Hadid's scheme.

A proposal by BattertonTyack Associates was rejected based on an inspector's report that the scheme was not in the mould of a classical country house.
