Dennis Bouey to quit as Phila. Airport chief

Dennis P. Bouey, the city aviation director of Philadelphia, is reportedly resigning from his position to become the head of the Port of San Diego. Mr. Bouey played a major role in making Philadelphia International Airport ready to handle expanding growth. Mr. Bouey will be leaving his post in January 1999. According to two sources, Mr. Bouey is departing Philadelphia for "family reasons." During Mr. Bouey's tenure, the Philadelphia International Airport grew more than it ever had in its entire history. In, 1997, the airport was the world's second-fastest growing airport based on the number of passenger traffic.

Hotelier has high hopes in the city

Article Abstract:

New York, NY-based Loews Corp.'s hotel division will create a 583-room hotel from the former PSFS Building in downtown Philadelphia. The new hotel, which will be called the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, will cost $115 million. Industry analysts have predicted that the hotel will fare well despite the construction of about 40 new hotels in the city. City officials are eager to see the new hotel completed because it will attract more convention business to the city.
