A banking legislation has launched multibanking in 1985 to Louisiana. Some of the famous banks during 1983, such as Louisiana National Bank and Baton Rouge Bank, had disappeared as smaller banks were merged and were replaced by larger banks as a result of the legislation. The market competition between large banks and community banks is analyzed.
