It's back to the future for department stores

Article Abstract:

Trendier styles and new affordable fashions from designers such as Calvin Klein and Michael Kors that once defined America's department stores is making a comeback. Racks of marked-down clothes that turned the big stores into Wal-Mart imitators are disappearing and the changes are evident at Lord and Taylor's flagship Manhattan store, where women's clothes are displayed in a more airy, open layout.

Center City office building sold to Boston company

Article Abstract:

Boston, Mass.-based Leggat McCall Properties L.L.C. has acquired the vacant Four Penn Center, which was built in 1965, for $13.3 million. Leggat McCall, which has regional offices in Bala Cynwyd, plans to renovate the 20-story structure in Center City.
