Temple to shift inpatient services

Article Abstract:

Temple University Health System announced plans to shift inpatient services from Neumann Medical Center (Fishtown, PA) to Northeastern Hospital (Port Richmond, PA). Neumann will see expansion in psychiatric, emergency, and outpatient care units. The expected shift of services will occur within several months. At that time, any staff laid off from Neumann will be offered other positions in the company. Temple claims the changes are based on budgetary needs. Physicians hope that Neumann will remain an acute care facility. However, plans are to cut all but six acute care beds in the hospital.
