Simon DeBartolo Group of Indianapolis, IN, intends to use its size to generate additional revenues from its client base. The company, which established Simon Brand Ventures to enter new ventures with firms such as Pepsi, Microsoft, Olsen Staffing services, Visa, a cybercafe firm, a telecommunications company and others, has emerged as the biggest owner of retail space with over 200 shopping centers. The company plans to make use of 2.3 billion customer visits to its establishments yearly to generate new sales.

NRM looks to raise revenue on Internet

Article Abstract:

Carnegie, PA-based National Record Mart Inc., a retailer of music products, plans to introduce at around Nov. 1, 1998, its new Amazon.com Web site. National Record Mart's new site on the Internet can function as a remaindered- and second-hand-CD stock-exchange medium, which will enable music dealers to market their unsold music inventory at discounted prices. National Record Mart, on the other hand, will secure a share of the sales generated by dealers from the use of its new proposed venture on the Internet.

High on the food chain

Article Abstract:

Eat 'n Park Restaurants President and Chief Operating Officer Basil M. Cox started in the chain in 1984 as its marketing director. Cox handled the marketing responsibilities of the restaurant chain that employs 7,000 people and has $175 million in sales per year. As part of his responsibilities, he had to dine out an average of five times a week and converse with employees to figure out how to deliver better the chain's advertising promise to customers that Eat 'n Park is "The place for smiles."
