Baton Rouge petrochemical industry has struggled during the middle to the end of 1980s, but was on its way to recovery in 1990s. The crisis was a result of rising price of natural gas and oil, and the industry also had to deal with the trends in environmental policies, and enhancements in efficiency and safety.
