Tenet hopitals see more patients

Article Abstract:

Tenet Healthcare Corp says it is regaining patients at the 8 Pennsylvania hospitals it acquired from the Allegheny health system. The number of patients, however, is still about 20% below what it was before Allegheny's bankruptcy. Tenet says the 8 hospitals have about 1,511 staffed beds, and are treating about 1060 patients daily. The chain has told investors to expect profits of about $15 million from its Philadelphia operations in the fiscal year ending May 30, 2000. Tenet plans to invest $60 million in the hospitals by the end of the 1999 fiscal year.
