Vanguard tried again for Allegheny

Article Abstract:

Vanguard Health Systems is intent on acquiring as many of Allegheny's hospitals as possible, but so far it has lost the battle to competitor Tenet Healthcare Corp. Vanguard raised the bid it had made on six of the eight hospitals up for grabs but their offer was refused by Allegheny. Allegheny argues that Tenet's bid is worth more because it covers all eight hospitals, while a successful bid by Vanguard would mean a closure of two of the group of hospitals.
