5'-end SAGE for the analysis of transcriptional start sites

Article Abstract:

The identification of nRNA start site, which is essential in establishing the full length cDNA sequence of a gene and the 5'-end serial analysis of gene expression (5'SAGE) that can be used to globally identify transcriptional start sites and the frequency of individual mRNA is presented. The technique of RefSeq, Unigene and DBTSS databases facilitate 5'-end transcriptome analysis in a variety of cells and tissues.

Micrjoarray fabrication with covalent attachment of DNA using Bubble Jet technology

Article Abstract:

The researchers developed a method for fabricating DNA microarrays that utilizes a Bubble Jet ink jet device to eject 5'-terminal-thiolated oligonucleotides to a glass surface. Heterobifunctional crosslinkers that react with the amino group on the substrate and a thiol group on the oligonucleotide probe attach the oligonucleotides covalently.

A simple method to cure established tumors by inflammatory killing of normal cells

Article Abstract:

A simple method to cure established tumors by inflammatory killing of normal cells is detailed. Intradermal injection of plasmid DNA encoding a transcriptionally targeted cytotoxic gene, along with hsp70, promotes tissue specific inflammatory killing of normal melanocytes and systemetically eradicates established B16 tumors.
