61.1% of readers polled have or plan to offer personal computers within the next few years

Article Abstract:

650 retailers were polled to see who is selling and who plans to sell home computers in their stores. 20.8% currently carry personal computers. 40.3% are planning to stock computers in the future. The reason for the growth is the drop in price of the home computers. Personal computers are now affordable to the consumer.

Eighth annual major appliance statistical and marketing report

Article Abstract:

Consumers are becoming more aware and buying better quality appliances but the retail demand and manufacturers' shipments are low. No major appliance is expected to show a gain this year in shipments. Consumers are spending less. Hopefully when the housing market picks up, so will the major appliance industry.
