A chance to broadcast better news

Article Abstract:

Alphameric has acquired Computer 100, which should reduce the company's dependency on a few contracts. Alphameric is involved in data systems and has a custom retail division, while Computer 100 specializes in newsagents. Alphameric's back-office software expertise and hardware meshes well with Computer 100's expertise in cash till software. Delayed contracts for Coral and for a European bank have affected Alphameric's results. The company's profit is forecast at 1.8 million pounds sterling for 1998.
