A forward plan for space in the UK

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom's Forward Plan identifies aims and actions for the UK civil space program. The Forward Plan is the result of a process of consultation involving British National Space Centre (BNSC) partners, industry and academia. The BNSC partnership represents the civil space interests of government departments and aims at maintaining good interaction at all levels across the UK space community. A comprehensive list of the actions agreed upon by the BNSC partners and the government is provided. An overview of the UK space policy is presented.

The UK and space, round five

Article Abstract:

The Royal Aeronautical Society's position paper on the UK's space policies was presented. The Society continues to uphold government research on Earth observation, the Horizon 2000 space science program, advanced communications technology and national and European space infrastructure. The Society's stand on the relationship of the UK with European Space Agency and other member states were discussed. An evaluation of the national space program of the UK was also discussed.

Spacecast 2020 - assessing US military needs in space

Article Abstract:

A study done in compliance with a directive from the Air Force Chief of Staff to examine the capabilities and technologies for 2020 and beyond to preserve the security of the USA produced many new ideas and reinforced some old ones. These ideas are infused with the awareness that by thinking about the future and preparing for it can make US a great power in the twenty-first century. The report offers many choices on how this may be done.
