A public stoning?

Article Abstract:

Nearly 80% of workers in the USA would be subject to workplace drug testing by 2005, and the practice is likely to spread to companies in the UK. Employers who wish to introduce drug testing must first address four issues, namely, the severity of the problem, the accuracy of the proposed tests, the practical implications of implanting them, and finally, what problems they are likely to solve, or cause, for the organization.

Over-the-counter statins?

Article Abstract:

The UK Medicines Control Agency in July 2004 gave a go signal to pharmacists to sell the powerful statin class of cholesterol-lowering drug without doctor's prescription. In the US in January 2005, in contrast, the US Food and Drug Administration took a contradictory stance, prohibiting over-the-counter sales of the drug. Arguments for both points of view are presented.
