The CCAF-FCVI and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) have published complementary frameworks for organizational accountability and control. The CCAF's 1987 book 'Effectiveness Reporting and Auditing in the Public Sector' contains its 12 guidelines for effectiveness reporting while the CICA's 'Guidance on Control' released in Nov. 1995 contains its 20 criteria of control.

Putting not-for-profit standards into practice

Article Abstract:

Adoption of the new accounting model for non-profit organizations may bring about substantial changes in their preparation of financial positions and statements. The new accounting standards are aimed at allowing better information for decision-making. However, it will take a while for the non-profit organizations to be comfortable with the new accrual-based financial reports.
